Abstract
One of the objectives of the research is to shed light on the right of legitimate defense because of its special importance at the level of international law and international organizations due to the absence of an international body that has at its disposal a permanent force that is used, when necessary, to show the changes that transformed the officer of aggression into a strategy of legitimate defense and its repercussions on the international community. The study is concluded with a number of results, including that legitimate defense is a right recognized by the international community, but its consecration in the text of Article 51 lacks discipline that widens the circle of ambiguity regarding its conditions and adaptation. The study recommended working on restricting the conditions of legitimate defense to limit the abuses invoked by perpetrators to evade international criminal responsibility, and their justification on the basis of legitimate defense.
