The Role of the International Community in Combating Information Crimes

Abstract
Objectives: The study aims to identify the nature of information crimes, their characteristics, security risks, and the role of the international community in combating them. Methods: The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approaches because they are among the most appropriate approaches for such studies. Results: It concluded that cybercrimes constitute a new security challenge for the police and security services, it is also difficult to identify the perpetrators of cybercrimes who have extensive experience in committing various types of crimes, in addition to the existence of international efforts to combat cybercrimes through international agreements and the International Criminal Police Organization. Conclusions: The study recommends taking strict legislative measures consistent with this type of information crimes, taking into account the special nature of these crimes, in addition to doubling coordination and cooperation between countries at the regional and international levels in confronting this type of emerging crimes.
