Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to review human rights, particularly the rights of individuals accused of a crime, and to examine the safeguards that protect them. It also seeks to explore the impact of historical legislation on establishing principles of criminal justice and the guarantees afforded to the accused. Methods: Analyzing ancient legal and legislative texts that included safeguards for the accused and studying modern concepts related to the same subject. Results: The study reached several conclusions, including the amendment of certain provisions of the UAE Cybercrime Law referenced in the research, which clarify the legal responsibility of remote information technology in litigation. It also emphasized the importance of organizing awareness seminars and conferences on the use of remote information technology, with the possibility of involving all members of the Public Prosecution and judiciary. Conclusions: Based on the findings of the study, we recommend the following: amending provisions in the UAE Cybercrime Law to clarify the legal responsibility of remote information technology in litigation; the need for authorities to enact specific laws emphasizing the protection of information privacy confidentiality, particularly in the context of remote information technology in litigation, to achieve criminal justice; along with other recommendations.
