Abstract

We try through this research to highlight the method of inference with the prophetic Sunnah in Imam Malik's book "Al-Mowatta" and formulate it in a model that demonstrates, for the researchers, some important building blocks that the Imam has developed in dealing with the ‘hadithi’ text such as the concept, its rules of inference, the facets of argumentation, accepting the hurried, and ways to eliminate the discrepancies between different texts. To elucidate these rules which Imam Malik has found, I relied on extrapolating the majority of the prophetic Hadiths reported in 'Al-Mowatta' and which were inferred in the construction of judgments. We have concluded that Imam Malik is one of the first Imams who have set, for themselves, a precise scientific approach in dealings with the Prophetic text. Therefore, it is imperative for researchers in the Islamic heritage to pay attention to these approaches in order to bring them to existence so that scholars and students will benefit from them, to take these approaches as a light on the path of the legitimate discourse and as a protection from falling into deviation or intellectual delusion.
