Abstract

The current research aims to identify the extent of Al-Takaful Palestinian Insurance Company’s commitment to the application of Islamic cooperative insurance and the role of the Islamic oversight committee in that regard. As such, the research comes in three parts followed by a conclusion. Part one introduces Al-Takaful Palestinian Insurance Company and Islamic cooperative insurance. The second part highlights the extent to which the company is committed to the application of Islamic cooperative insurance. However, the third part highlights the role of the Islamic oversight committee in the company’s commitment to the application of Islamic cooperative insurance. In the attempt to introduce these parts hoping to reach the desired results, the researcher employed the descriptive and analytical method based on examining and analyzing the documents and establishment contracts, annual reports, pamphlets and other sources. The researches, thus, has arrived at a number of outcomes most important of which is that Al-Takaful Insurance is committed to the application of Islamic cooperative insurance and that the role of the Islamic oversight committee is very important in that respect ensuring cohesion with the rules of Islamic Sharia.
