Abstract

The current study aims to reveal the extent to which the strategic plan of Sultan Qaboos University is adapting to the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution. It also aimed to end up with some suggestions for developing the strategic plan of Sultan Qaboos University in light of the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution. The study used the qualitative approach to fit the study's objectives through interviews and content analysis. The sample of interviews consisted of (9) members of the leaders of Sultan Qaboos University. The sample of content analysis included the University's strategic plan, (2016-2040). The results of the study found that the level of alignment of strategic plan of Sultan Qaboos University to the fourth industrial revolution was good in both interviews and content analysis. The study also presented a number of suggestions to develop strategic planning at Sultan Qaboos University in light of the fourth industrial revolution such as building capacities and skills, implementing plans to keep pace with the fourth industrial revolution, improving community partnership, and promoting scientific research.
