The Effect of the Quality of Senior Management Decisions on Academics' Resistance to Change

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the effect of the quality of senior management decisions on academics' resistance to change at Al-Istiqlal University because the quality of the decisions taken is of importance to the decision-maker and the institution he represents in facing the various problems and challenges that the institution faces in the light of dynamic environments and enhancing opportunities for it to achieve progress in the face of other competing educational institutions. The study represents population of Al-Istiqlal University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed the study tool (questionnaire), which consisted of (34) paragraphs, and it-targeted academics at Al-Istiqlal University. The study found that there is a statistically significant effect at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) for the quality of senior management decisions with its dimensions on resistance to change with its combined dimensions. In the light of findings of the study, the researcher recommended the following: The need to involve academics when making decisions related to their departments, and to ensure that these decisions are accepted, which will reflect positively on their performance as well as encourage them by providing incentives and benefits to ensure their commitment to the change plan.
