Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to identify the role of nominatives in dividing the sentence into predicates and their functional role knowing the foundations upon which Arabic relied in arranging the Arabic sentence and the role of the syntactic movement and its connotations, identifying the origin of the Arabic sentence, deleting the predicate in the verbal and nominal sentences, and identifying the grammatical thinking according to Ibn al-Hajib in the book Sharh al-Radi 'ala al-Kafiya. Methods: The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach in studying the book Al-Kafiya by Ibn Al-Hajib. Conclusions: Syntactic vowels divide the elements of the Arabic sentence into prepositions, and they have the merit of removing confusion when preceding and postponing. The meanings are linked to the functional aspect. Al-Suyuti saw the attribution of the nominative to the prepositions, the accusative to the prepositions, and the genitive case for what is between them, as well as the jussive. He added that the syntactic vowels are the origin, and the syntactic vowels are a branch.
