Abstract
Objectives: The objective of the study is to identify evincing in the group of "Fatima and Other Stories" by Abdul Salam Hafez and to acknowledge his critical mechanisms in guidance and persuasion that were built to influence, i.e. with the purpose of communication, interpretation, contributing to conceding to social and intellectual issues, and to legitimize his point of view about societal issues, especially the women related ones. Methods: In this study, we adopted the analytical-critical methodology, which focuses on extracting argumentative expressions in criticism from that set, considering them as expressions representing an argumentative discourse for communication. The sender practices this discourse in a specific context according to the criteria of classifying possible models. Conclusions: The study was concluded with a series of findings, including the narrator's reliance on different linguistic means of evincing to influence and convince the audience, as he expressed his internal contradiction towards some issues and the diversity of power, which is represented by the duality of Present Future and Present Past in women's issues. Criticism of texts allows the study of society through the relationship between texts and society as the social life is presented in the form of literary texts.
