Analysis of the Speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Joe Biden in Justifying the War on the Gaza Strip, “Al-Aqsa Flood”: An Analytical Study

Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify how political discourse was employed in analyzing the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Joe Biden (the American Prime Minister) in justifying the war on the Gaza Strip, Al-Aqsa flood. Methods: The researcher used a descriptive study to analyze the discourse. Results: The study found that among the most important topics that were focused on in the speeches of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Joe Biden in justifying the war on the Gaza Strip there were: America standing by Israel and helping them in the war against the Gaza Strip, protecting Israeli civilians, releasing hostages, and not allowing... With the passage of humanitarian aid from Israeli territory to the Gaza Strip, the elimination of Hamas, and among the strategies of persuasion and influence used in the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Joe Biden in justifying the war on the Gaza Strip is the strategy of playing the victim, and the strategy of solidarity, and among the most prominent linguistic methods and tricks used in the speeches are threats, intimidation, entreaty, and linguistic euphemism. Conclusions: The study concluded that the analysis of the speeches of both Netanyahu and Biden in justifying the war focused on the military escalation and its development and the exacerbation of tension between the two parties, providing reasons and justifications for launching the attack on the Gaza Strip, knowing how international politics affected the positions of both Netanyahu and Biden, and studying international reactions. Regional analysis of the war, the positions of major powers and international organizations, and an analysis of the expected results of the war on the Gaza Strip and its impact on the political, economic and humanitarian arena.
