Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify the awareness and perception of employees in the banking sector in the Medina region regarding the concept of continuous learning and the characteristics of a continuous learning work environment (competitive advantage, innovation and competition, an open and forgiving work environment, supportive structures and resources, reward and recognition systems, leadership support, and peer support). Additionally, it seeks to identify statistically significant differences among employees based on demographic variables. Methods: The study used a descriptive-analytical approach and relied on a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The study was conducted on 250 employees in the banking sector, with 207 valid questionnaires retrieved for analysis. Results: The results showed that the study sample members have awareness and perception of the concept of continuous learning and the characteristics of a continuous learning work environment and its impact on their job performance. There were no statistically significant differences among employees in the banking sector regarding the concept of continuous learning and the characteristics of a continuous learning work environment based on gender, experience, job level, and sector field. However, there were statistically significant differences attributed to the educational level variable. Conclusion: Based on the study results, it recommends the need to unify policies and procedures related to continuous learning to ensure the best practices among banks. It also suggests enhancing continuous learning opportunities in the work environment by establishing ongoing training programs focused on developing employees' personal and professional skills. Furthermore, it encourages innovation and renewal by creating training and development programs and workshops that promote experimenting with new methods and appreciating innovative ideas. The study also recommends fostering a culture of continuous learning by providing diverse educational resources such as online courses, books and articles.
