Abstract
Objectives: This research is based on studying the phenomenon of inclusion of prepositions between two languages: Classical Arabic and Nabataean dialect, then conducting a different comparison. At the beginning, it is based on defining inclusion both linguistically and technically based on what is stated in language dictionaries. It also depends on Quranic evidences and pre-Islamic poetry as a source for classical Arabic. As for Nabataean dialect, it relies on inscriptions carved into rocks by Nabataean Arab hands, still visible at the entrances of tombs, temples, and dwellings scattered across the borders of the Nabataean Kingdom, which extended from Madain Saleh in the north to Damascus in the south and from Wadi Al-Sirhan in the east to the western Nile River, and its capital was Petra in the south of Jordan. Methods: The researchers adopted a descriptive and comparative approach to study this linguistic phenomenon. Conclusions: The research concluded that the phenomenon of inclusion among prepositions exists in both Classical Arabic and Nabataean dialect.
