Abstract
Objectives: This study examines the poetry of Pehin Yaḥyā as a case study of Islamic poetry in the Dzikr Nation, focusing on its themes, artistic styles, and role in promoting Islamic values in society. His poetry highlights spiritual concepts addressing faith, monotheism, ethics, and reflections on life and death. The influence of the local environment is evident in his works through imagery derived from nature and daily life. Methods: The study is based on analyzing selected texts from Pehin Yaḥyā's poetry. It sheds light on the aesthetics of his language and poetic style, which harmonize Islamic traditions with a local flavor. Conclusions: The findings indicate that his poetry strengthens Brunei's national Islamic identity and serves as a medium for spreading moral and educational values within the community. Pehin Yaḥyā's poetry represents a distinctive example of modern Islamic poetry that balances preserving religious values with openness to cultural developments. This makes it an effective tool for conveying the message of Islam creatively and aesthetically.
