Abstract

The research idea came as a contribution to the work of researchers in the field of Saudi banks, and an explanation of the impact of the Corona epidemic (Covid 19) on the Saudi economy in general and on Saudi banks in particular. This study ended with a set of recommendations and results, the most important of which are: first: The net profits of Saudi banks that were included in the study sample decreased, their profits and net income from various operations decreased in a clear way in the first half of the year 2020 compared to the first half of the year 2019, and the allowances for credit losses for all banks in the study sample also increased due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on The global economy in general, and the Saudi economy as a whole, and the Saudi banking sector in particular, Second: Providing logistical support and technical training for Saudi bank employees on remote work techniques in light of the current circumstances of the Corona pandemic, which may extend for many years, Third: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must implement additional policies and procedures that would support the ability of Saudi banks to confront this global pandemic, in order to enhance their ability to overcome the repercussions of this pandemic, especially in the field of bad loans, and to make the sector more competitive among foreign banks in global markets.
