Abstract
The purpose of the current study is to examine the role of positive psychological (self-efficacy, optimism, hope, resiliency) on employee performance (task performance, contextual performance, counterproductive work behaviour) through work engagement (vigour, dedication, and absorption) in the four and five star hotels in Sulaimania city Kurdistan region -Iraq . The study community actually represents a sample of (300) workers to join among (950) workers. Based on the results of all the hypotheses of the study, the researcher adopted a number of conclusions, the most prominent being the existence of a significant effect of the independent variable ( positive psychological capital) in the dependent variable (performance) through the existence of the medium variable (work engagement). The study concluded that there is a positive and significant impact of positive psychological capital on enhancing performance through work association. Based on the conclusions, the study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the need for hotels to explore the concept of mental capital in thought and practice and to include it in the curriculum of the training courses for senior leaders so that many of them can identify the philosophy of applied.
