Abstract
The aim of this research is to identify the levels of perfectionism (normal and neurotic) among young people in the Saudi environment during the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), in addition to identifying the differences in the level of perfectionism according to the gender variable. To achieve the aim of the research, the scale of perfectionism levels for adolescents (prepared by Sarah Riyad, 2018) was standardized on preparatory year students at Jeddah University, whose ages range between (17-19) years, by recalculating its validity and stability in several ways on a large random sample of students of the preparatory year at the University of Jeddah. The research scale included (59 items) distributed over (8 dimensions). The research sample consisted of (2711) male and female students from the preparatory year at Jeddah University. The data were processed using the appropriate statistical methods in the SPSS program to verify the results of the study, and many methods were used to verify the validity and reliability of the scale. The study reached the following results: the scale of levels of perfectionism for adolescents is characterized by high reliability and validity coefficients in the Saudi environment, and this indicates its psychometric efficiency in measuring what is to be measured. The results also showed that the level of perfectionism among the preparatory year students was average, on the total scale and on all eight dimensions of perfectionism, and this indicates that university students have normal perfectionism. The results also found that there were differences in the level of perfectionism according to the gender variable, and they were in favor of males.
