Abstract
The current study aims to identify the effectiveness of a counseling program based on psychodrama to reduce social phobia. The study sample consisted of 40 female students of High Basic Level at Al-Wosta Governorate, which was selected purposively and was divided equally into two groups, i.e., the experimental group and the control group. To collect data for the present study, the researcher developed two tools, namely a counseling program based on psychodrama and a social phobia scale. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group on the scale of social phobia. In addition, there were statistically significant differences in the pre and post measurements of the experimental group on the scale of social phobia in favor of the post-measurement. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in both the post and follow-up measurements of the experimental group on the scale of social phobia.
