Abstract
The aim of the research is to identify the role of professional learning communities in developing the skill of activating the classroom platform among social studies teachers in some of the second and post-basic schools in the governorates of South Al Batinah and North Al Sharqiyah, and its impact on the level of achievement for students for the academic year 2020/2021 AD. A number of questionnaires were handed out to assess training needs and proposals for development procedures in professional learning communities, and pre- and post-test. The questionnaires were analyzed by extracting arithmetic averages to limit training needs and proposals for conducting development in the learning community. Pre and post tests were also analyzed by extracting the number of iterations and the arithmetic mean that was extracted directly from Google Forms. A random sample of students was selected for the purpose of the research, where the percentage difference between the pre and post averages ranged between (1.1-1.8). The research reached a number of results; namely, the importance of training teachers on educational platforms and the programs and applications they contain, an increase in academic achievement among students as a result of training teachers on a number of programs that help them teach through the platform. The importance of professional learning communities in creating an important learning environment for training teachers and transferring many experiences and skills to them.
