Reality of Administrative Creativity Among Heads of Academic Departments in Public and Private Universities in the Northern Governorates of Palestine

Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the reality of administrative creativity among the heads of academic departments in public and private universities in the northern governorates of Palestine, and the differences according to the variables of university type, department type, and the interaction between them. The sample consisted of (70) subjects, approximately 46% of the study population, and a questionnaire was applied to measure administrative creativity consisting of (25) items, distributed in four domains: (originality, fluency, flexibility, and a sense of problems). Methods: The researcher employed the descriptive analytical correlational methodology, considering its suitability for the nature and objectives of the study. Results: The results of the study showed that the total degree of the reality of administrative creativity among the heads of academic departments in public and private universities in the northern governorates of Palestine was high with a relative weight (83%). The domain of (fluency) was the highest one with a relative weight of (81.80%). In addition, the results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (alpha less than or equal 0.05) in the administrative creativity of the heads of academic departments in public and private universities in the northern governorates of Palestine due to the variables of the type of university, type of academic department and the interaction between them. Conclusions: The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: the need for university administrations to encourage heads of academic departments to be creative at work, and to give them sufficient opportunities for creativity without restricting their creative abilities.
