Abstract
Objectives: The current research aims to understand the reality of teacher preparation programs - specifically, the program for teaching life skills and family skills - in Finland and propose a conceptual framework based on the Finnish experience. Methods: The researcher followed a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the content of the program for teaching life skills and family skills in light of the Finnish experience. Results: The research resulted in the proposal of a conceptual framework for the program, which includes two components: a bachelor's program and a master's program. The bachelor's program consists of six levels distributed over three years at the College of Education, specializing in life skills and family skills (home economics). The total number of program hours is 180, and it includes three areas: the specialized aspect, the cultural aspect, and the educational aspect. The master's program, on the other hand, consists of four levels over a duration of two years, with a total of 120 accredited hours. The program includes three areas: the specialized aspect, the cultural aspect, and the educational aspect. The proposed framework also includes teaching methods, techniques, educational activities, and assessment methods. Based on the proposed framework. Conclusions: The researcher made several recommendations, including emphasizing research skills and knowledge of the fundamentals of scientific research, strengthening the connection between teacher preparation institutions and the educational field in general, introducing new courses and methods for using modern technologies in education within teacher preparation curricula and allocating more time for practical education.
