The Degree of High School Leaders' Practice of Self-Management in Hafar Al-Batin Governorate and Ways to Improve it

Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify the degree of high school leaders 'practice of self-management in Hafar Al-Batin governorate from the male and female teachers’ point of view and ways to improve it. Methods: The descriptive approach was used to achieve the goals and to develop a questionnaire consisting of (28) items distributed into (4) areas, applied to a random sample a simple number of (341) male and female teachers in secondary schools. Results: The study found that the degree of high school leaders' practice of self-management was with a moderate degree of practice. There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (alpha less than or equal 0.05) between the estimates of the study sample individuals due to the study variables (gender and school type). There are statistically significant differences at the significance level (alpha less than or equal 0.05) between the estimates of the study sample individuals due to the variable of years of service in favor of 10 years or more. Conclusions: Among the most important recommendations of the stud is granting school leaders more powers necessary to practice self-management and raise the degree of its practice in professional development, communication, information and educational accountability. Intensifying training courses and workshops in the field of self-management for school leaders and teachers to enrich their knowledge of its methods and fields to raise the degree of its practice.
