The Level of Self-Awareness and its Relationship to the Variables of Gender and Academic Level Among University Students in Light of the Corona Pandemic in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify the level of self-awareness among university students in light of the Corona pandemic and to identify differences according to some variables, gender and academic year. The study sample consisted of (118) male and female students. Methods: The study used the descriptive approach, and the self-awareness scale was applied to them, prepared by (Al-Najjar, 2018) after reviewing it and its relevance to the current study. The scale consists of (35) items. It is divided into two dimensions: private self-awareness, which includes paragraphs (1-19), and general self-awareness, which includes paragraphs (20-35). Results: The results showed a high level of self-awareness among students at Sultan Qaboos University, and there were no statistically significant differences due to the variables of gender and year of study. Conclusions: The study recommended the importance of spreading self-awareness among university students, and enhancing student counseling programs with activities and events that enhance self-awareness. It raises their levels of self-awareness by holding seminars, lectures, studies and scientific research.
