Effectiveness of Applying the E- learning Education at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Rustaq during the Corona - Covid 19 Pandemic from the Perspective of University Students

Abstract
Objectives: The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of applying the e-learning education at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Rustaq during Covid-19 pandemic from the perspective of university students. In addition, it aimed at identifying the differences in students’ opinions in relation to some variables such as gender, specialization, place of residence, and academic year. Methods: To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (47) paragraphs distributed over three focuses: the focus on the reality of e-learning in light of the spread of the Corona pandemic, the focus on the challenges of e-learning in light of the Corona pandemic and the focus on the positives of e-learning in light of the Corona pandemic. The tool was applied on a sample consisting of (225) students. Results: Its results showed that the effectiveness of applying the e-learning education at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Rustaq during Covid-19 pandemic, from the perspective of university students in general, was highly effective. However, it refereed statically that there are significant differences in students’ estimates on the effectiveness of the e-learning application at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Rustaq during Covid-19 pandemic related to variables such as gender that was in favor of males, while there are no statically significant differences due to the variables related to specialization, place of residence and year of study. Conclusions: Considering these amazing results, the researcher recommended intensive training courses for students on using the e- learning management system (Blackboard) to help them develop their skills. It also recommends providing the necessary requirements to develop the infrastructure system at the university, which enhances the provision of appropriate technical support, and developing some academic courses in line with the requirements of distance e-learning.
