The Extent to which Educational Diploma Students Practice Psychological and Educational Guidance and Counselling Skills in Developing Moral and Social Values among Students in Grades (5-10) of Basic Education in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract
Objectives: The current study aimed to investigate the extent to which educational Diploma students practice psychological and educational guidance and counselling skills in developing moral and social values among students in grades (5-10) of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman. Methods: The study used the descriptive analytical approach, and the study sample consisted of (73) male and female students of educational Diploma students for the academic year 2022/2023 AD. To achieve the objectives of the study, a special questionnaire was built, and its validity and reliability were calculated using appropriate statistical methods. Results: The results also showed that educational Diploma students practice programs for developing moral and social values to a very high degree. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences between the sexes in the practice of psychological guidance and counselling while there are statistically significant differences in programs for developing moral and social values in favor of females. Conclusions: The study recommended the need to train male and female teachers in psychological and educational guidance and counselling skills and allocate a weekly session to enhance moral and social values among school students.
