The Level of Improving the School Environment in Basic Education Schools in Aldakhiliyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman from the Teachers’ Point of View

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the level of improvement of school environment in basic education schools in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive research approach. A questionnaire was developed consisting of two parts. The first part was the general data of the study sample members. The second part was about improving the school environment. It consisted of (23) items divided into four areas. The questionnaire was applied to a sample of (337) male and female teachers in basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The study found out that improving the school environment came with an arithmetic average of (4.44) and at (high) level. The organizational commitment dimension came with an arithmetic average of (4.68) and at (high) level. The creativity and innovation dimension came with an arithmetic average of (4.44) and at (high) level. The job satisfaction dimension came in the last rank with an arithmetic average of (4.34) and at a (high) level. There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (alpha less than 0.05) for the study sample estimates due to the gender variable for all areas of improving the school environment and in the total score except for school equipment in favor of females. There were no statistically significant differences due to the educational qualification variable in all areas of improving the school environment and in the total score. In light of the results, the study recommended asking the Information Technology Department in the Directorate of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to provide the Internet and modern means of communication for all schools due to its effective role in facilitating communication and the search for valuable and useful information.
