Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to reveal the perceptions of female faculty members in the College of Education regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence techniques (ChatGPT) in education. Methods: The study followed the descriptive survey method using the questionnaire as a tool for the study. A random sample of female faculty members from the College of Education at King Saud University participated to the study. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was designed consisting of (22) items, and the questionnaire was distributed electronically, yielding 48 responses. Results: After processing the data statistically with SPSS, the study produced several results, the most notable of which is that female faculty members have a positive orientation towards using technology in education, and their perceptions of its use for students or in their educational practices were great. Faculty members expressed a need for policies on the optimal and acceptable use of AI in education and showed interest in learning generative artificial intelligence techniques (such as ChatGPT) to provide creative tasks for students, as well as their interest in learning generative artificial intelligence techniques (Chat GPT) to provide creative tasks for students. Conclusions: The study presented a number of recommendations based on the results, including providing training programs and workshops for faculty members to effectively use artificial intelligence in education and adopting policies to guide the optimal use of AI in students' learning.
