The Effectiveness of Some Authentic Assessment Methods in Assessing Achievement Scores in the Course of Thinking and Learning Skills for Education and Arts Students at King Faisal University. (A Comparative Study with the Classical Assessment Method)

Abstract
The Research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of authentic assessment methods (portfolio- worksheets- activities- questionnaires- learning log) in assessing the achievement for(132) of education and arts students in King Faisal University in the curriculum of learning and thinking skills, compared with the traditional assessment ). In addition to the authentic assessment methods, the tools included two tests in the course. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (0.01) between the traditional and the authentic assessment in favor of the authentic assessment among the sample students. there were statistically significant differences at (0.05) between education and arts students in authentic assessment degrees in favor of education students It was possible to deduce a regression equation expresses the positive influence statistically significant of authentic methods on achievement: Traditional assessment = 16.27+ (0.507) authentic assessment
