The effect of using active learning strategies on improving critical thinking skills in physics among upper basic students' in Jordan

Abstract
This study aimed at exploring the effect of Employ three active learning strategies on improving critical thinking skills among Upper Primary Students in Jordan.The sample consisted of (99) students. who were chosen from the 10th graders at Mansheyat Bani Hasan Secondary School for Boys. Four groups were selected randomly. each of (25) students. One of them was assignaed as a control group. The first experimental group. studied using the mind mapping strategy. the second group. studied using the collaborative learning strategy. the third group. studied using the modeling learning strategy. Where as the control group. studied by the conventional method of teaching. A critical thinking skills test was used. after checking for validity and reliability. The results showed a positive effect of the experimental groups on the development of critical thinking skills. In addition. the results didn't show any effect for the control group on the development of critical thinking skills. The study recommended conducting more studies to identify the effect of using active learning strategies on the development of other skills of critical thinking skills in Physics for upper-primary students in Jordan.
