Abstract
The study aimed to figure out the level of the psychological burnout among the teachers of students with autism spectrum disorder in Dammam city and its relationship to their emotional intelligence. The study sample consisted of (204) male and female teachers of the students with autism spectrum disorder in the private centers in Dammam. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared the psychological burnout scale and the emotional intelligence scale whose. The results showed that the level of the psychological burnout among the teachers of students with autism spectrum disorder in Dammam city was high in all the dimensions of the study where the first dimension of the emotional stress was ranked first followed by the sag feelings in the second and the lack of the sense of achievement in the final place. The results also showed that the level of the emotional intelligence among the teachers of the students with autism spectrum disorder in Dammam was medium in terms of the dimension of communication followed by empathy in the second place, the emotional knowledge in the third, the organization of emotions and finally the management of emotions in the last place. The study presented some recommendations, including the need that the private community centers pay attention to reducing the burden on the teachers of students with autism spectrum disorder.
